Cookson's rolling fire doors are likely to be found protecting openings in fire walls,
room partitions, corridors, walls, and vertical shaft walls.
Meet or Exceed Safety Requirements
Cookson fire doors are labeled by UL, FM and Warnock Hersey and have been tested in
accordance with ASTM E-152. Whether the operation is push-up, crank, chain, or motor, each
automatic door is provided with a governor to control the downward speed of the curtain.
Approved Fire Doors In Exceptional Sizes
Fire door slats are constructed of galvanized steel in gauges from 22 to 20 with slats
1 and 5 standard. Cookson fire doors can also be furnished with stainless steel curtains
using No. 1 or No. 5 slats.
Cookson labeled rolling fire doors cannot exceed 163 square feet in area. The width
cannot exceed 13'-7" and the height cannot exceed 12'. Doors exceeding
these dimensions are furnished with oversize labels.
Both labeled and over-size labeled doors are available for 3 hour, 1 1/2
hour and 3/4 hour ratings. Under Uniform Building Code, Section 4306, fire
doors are required to be automatic self closing.
